2021 Penrose Park Velodrome Summer Track Series

Info: www.penroseparkvelo.com

When: Every Thursday May 20th- September 16th

What: Track racing is fast paced quick action racing on a banked velodrome in beautiful North St. Louis. Every Thursday night each category will get to try their skill at three different race formats.

Where: Penrose Park 4200 N Kingshighway Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63115

How it Works: Check out https://www.penroseparkvelo.com/race-descriptions for the rules explanation for all the different types of track races run.

Race Information: Each week there will be 4 categories racing in three different races, including the big feature race of the night. The same order of categories will be raced through each of the races on the program. A (Category 1-3), then Women’s Open, then B (Category 3-4) and finally C (Category 4-5). Racers are allowed to chose which field they want to race in, but we ask that you be respectful to the other racers, aka no sandbagging.

The Track: Penrose Park Velodrome was built in 1962, after the velodrome in Forest Park was removed for highway expansion. In 2019 there was a major refinishing project completed to give us the amazing facilities we have today. Penrose Park Velodrome is just short of being 1/5 of a mile, which is just short of 1/3 a kilometer. For general mass start racing, we treat it like a standard 333 meter track. Racing is always done counterclockwise.

Parking: There is a paved lot on site, as well as grass parking behind the velodrome. The parking area is trafficked with racers and fans, please be safe when entering and exiting.

Registration: is on site only and opens around 5:00 pm each Thursday. All participants will be required to fill out a series waiver, and check in each week at the registration ten.

Race Fees are $15. Register in person or online

Important!  Riders must report to registration each evening to be included on the start list.
