Serotta Road Bikes

Ottrott

The Ottrott is Serotta's finest bike, and quite possible--if you believe all the reviews--the finest bike ever made. No, it's not for everyone. But, then again, if you wanted a merely ubiquitous bike, no Serotta would be for you.

The idea behind the Ottrott was simple: Combine titanium and carbon fiber in such a way to maximize their inherent strengths, thereby creating the ultimate ride. Sounds easy right? In actual fact, the process of selecting the materials and developing the construction methods to build the Ottrott took the better part of 6 years. The resulting Ottrott is a true cyclist’s bicycle: Serotta designed it to achieve distinct rider advantages. In short, the Ottrott is not only a bicycle thoughtfully designed to make you ride faster, but it is also is a bicycle that makes you want to ride; it brings your cycling experience to its highest plateau. Smooth, vibration-free and communicative road feel is just the beginning. The Ottrott also accelerates like a rocket and handles like it's on rails. It will take anything you can throw at it and then it asks for more – the Ottrott is the ultimate hedonistic pleasure for cyclists.

To maximize rider benefits Serotta use the most advanced materials available. Perhaps even more important is that they use these materials in the right places: Carbon fiber for stiffness and vibration damping; titanium for a snappy ride quality and durability. The Ottrott’s Colorado Concept main tubes are now made from their groundbreaking Torsion Core carbon fiber. This new technology means the Ottrott’s drivetrain is as stiff or stiffer than before, while the tubes themselves are an average of 16% lighter. The new Ottrott gets more than just new carbon fiber. The new bottom brackets and head tubes are radically machined in the CNC shop to reduce excess material. This painstaking process shaves grams from these parts without compromising strength. The butted S-Bend chain stays are functional works of art that stiffen the drivetrain and provide a snappy ride quality. The available ST stay and pivot system keeps the rear tire glued to the ground for greater control and maximum energy transfer.

All this technology isn’t for nothing. It is specifically designed and utilized to create the perfect ride – the Ottrott. $5300 Ottrott ST frame with carbon stays, $4900 Ottrott frame with titanium stays

Nove

The Serotta name has been founded on a reputation of building the world’s finest bicycles. Introducing new models is not something they take lightly, or enter into for marketing purposes. Like every model Serotta has ever produced, the new Nove was designed using sound engineering principles and built from only the finest materials available. Producing the perfect ride is never an easy process. They wanted a bike that would accelerate swiftly, handle like a sports car and be comfortably efficient. The first test ride revealed that we hit the mark – this was a bike with epic capabilities: a Serotta.

The Nove (NO-vay) is the little brother to the Ottrott. It is to the Ottrott as the Concours is to the Legend. It uses the same Serotta Torsion Core carbon top and down tubes in a slightly less expensive weave, along with the same titanium as in the Concours. $3400 for the frame

Legend

To state it simply, there is no titanium bicycle on the market that is more advanced, more thoughtfully devised or more solidly constructed than the Legend Ti. For 12 years Serotta has made the Legend Ti and for 12 years it has set the industry standard for titanium design and fabrication. The Legend squarely hits the mark of what every great bike should be: Stiff for efficiency and explosive acceleration while compliant to achieve maximum handling ability and comfort. Climbers love the Legend because of its phenomenal stiffness to weight ratio, which lets them rocket up the steepest inclines. Long distance racers love the comfortable but communicative road feel and predictable handling afforded by the Legend’s premium, rider-specific tube set. Everything about the Legend is designed to enhance your performance and maximize your riding enjoyment.

What makes the Legend Ti the most advanced and best riding titanium bicycle ever made? It has to be the tubing. Triple butted Colorado Concept titanium tubes are the reason each and every Legend outperforms the competition and defies your expectations. The extensive triple butting and swaging process not only substantially reduces weight, but also refines the ride quality. The Legend offers cyclists a near-perfect balance of road feel, responsiveness and light weight. All riders benefit from the optional ST carbon fiber seat stays and pivot system, which keeps the rear wheel glued to the ground for greater handling agility. Constant improvements like the new weight saving eccentric head tube and bottom bracket, ensure that the Legend remains king of the hill, in more than one way. $3800 Legend ST frame, $3400 Legend Ti frame

Concours

Why consider the Concours? Because quite frankly, the Concours outperforms the competitors’ top-shelf titanium bicycles in every respect. The Concours remains more responsive, more refined and more comfortable than any other bike in its class. Serotta builds the Concours specifically to be the ultimate all-rounder; to provide the classic Serotta ride, every ride. Ask the Concours to climb – it climbs. Ask it to descend – it flies downhill. Ask it to provide a thrilling ride – you don’t even need to ask, it does it every single time. The materials, the meticulous attention to build and detail, and of course the custom fit all make Concours respond to your inputs as though it were reading your mind.

Why has the Concours become such a sought-after bicycle? It must be the technologically superior tubes. The Concours uses only the finest double butted and tapered Colorado Concept tubes for light weight and responsive ride characteristics. These C3Ti tubes are worked into ride-enhancing shapes and then seamlessly welded together by the top craftsmen in the industry. The Concours CS ups the ante by featuring the CS carbon stay for extra vibration damping and increased comfort in all riding conditions. $2800 Concours CS frame, $2500 Concours frame

CSi

Ben Serotta started building lugged steel bicycles in 1972. He has not stopped since.
Their steel bikes have been lauded and lusted after from the very beginning; the current CSi is certainly no exception. Those who know and love bikes hold a deep reverence for classic lugged steel bicycles. They know that steel is the benchmark for a lively and responsive, yet comfortable ride. Lugged construction is not only a thing of beauty, but also supremely functional. The CSi is a piece of art that begs to be ridden hard. It responds perfectly to your every input and makes the most of your precious energy.

The current CSi is hand-crafted by the same methods Ben used to build his first bikes as a teenager. While the methods remain the same, the materials have undergone a renaissance. The CSi now uses triple butted Columbus Niobium tubes shaped into Colorado Concept shapes and joined together with fully lugged construction. Niobium tubes not only mean that the CSi is efficient and nimble as always, but it is also the lightest CSi ever. With classic panache and real performance-enhancing updates, it is no wonder the Serotta CSi remains a popular and sought-after bicycle. $2200 CSi frame

CDA & CIII

These are the premiere steel road frames in the world, no two ways about it. The CDA and CIII models embody 30 years of frame building experience and Serotta's fervent love for steel road bikes. Why do people love steel so much? It’s the ride. Experienced cyclists know that steel is the benchmark material for ride quality and responsiveness. The CIII and CDA are the absolute best of what steel has to offer. Steel bikes have always been comfortable and responsive, with snappy acceleration, smooth ride feel and stable handling. The CIII and CDA are no exception to this rule, but they take the steel experience to the next level. Serotta's steel bikes are remarkably lightweight and feature build quality and design that accentuate the best qualities of the raw material.

The revered ride qualities of the CDA and CIII are due in part to materials and in part to design. Meet Italian steel tubing manufacturer Columbus' new Niobium tubes. Niobium is a leap forward in steel alloy technology. Columbus was able to provide Serotta with a lighter, more resilient steel tube with greater durability and welding properties. In turn, they shape and butt these tubes into our Colorado Concept design to provide maximum drivetrain efficiency and great comfort. Their uncompromising stance on materials and design means that the CIII surpasses every expectation of what a steel bike should be. The CDA takes this high performance design to another level with the inclusion of our CS carbon fiber seat stay for added vibration damping. Think of the CIII and CDA models as the steel versions of the Legend Ti: Uncompromising, unadulterated, high performance machines, custom made to order. $1800 CDA frame, $1500 CIII frame

Fierte & Fierte Ti

You could own a bike that was mass-produced in a cookie-cutter factory, built from second-rate materials, designed for the way a large company thinks you should be riding. Or you could own a Fierte, thoughtfully designed for the way cyclists really ride, hand-crafted from the best materials available and backed with a lifetime warranty that guarantees you will enjoy a personal relationship with this bike for years to come. The choice is yours; the ability to build a world-class machine is Serotta's.

The Fierte is a vastly superior alternative to mass-produced frames. Thoughtfully designed Serotta Optimum Geometry critically addresses the need for a proper fitting bicycle – it looks like other manufacturers are beginning to agree with us by offering their own copycat models. With 12 sizes and sloping top tube geometry, the Fierte fits a wider range of riders without compromise. Even at this price point, the Fierte adheres to the Serotta philosophy: Ride quality is paramount. Rather than take the quick and easy approach to stock frames, they decided that only the best riding, most durable material would do. You could get that other bike, but why would you?

The Fierte Ti uses only the best materials and is built by hand in the Serotta factory where they build all their models. They start by selecting size-specific Premium Select titanium tubes, and then weld them using the industry’s most exacting standards for TIG welding. New this year, Fierte Ti models are equipped with our CS carbon fiber seat stay for added vibration damping to smooth out the already pleasing ride of titanium. Three color options for the Fierte: competition red, sapphire blue, or arancio (orange), and the classic brushed titanium finish on the Fierte Ti. $1800 Fierte Ti frame, $1100 Fierte frame.
