Gear Up for Extreme Bike Sharing at The Gateway Cup Professional Cycling Series 


The Race: 

Immediately following the conclusion of the professional races at Stage 2 of the Gateway Cup Professional cycling series, we will feature the Prime Time Lime Race. This race will showcase the strength and skills needed to quickly find a Lime Bike, Download the Lime Bike Application, and push the Lime Bike to its absolute limit over a two-lap race around the Francis Park race course.  

Where: Gateway Cup Stage 2, Francis Park, St. Louis MO 63109 @ Race Registration

When: Race Start is 7:00pm. Race staging at 6:45pm. 

Packet-Pick Up: September 1st ONLY @ Gateway Cup registration 10am -6pm. 

The Rules: 

  1. All competitive bike share enthusiasts will start on foot immediately prior to “Turn 4” of the Gateway Cup (Donovan Ave and Eichelberger St.) for a mass start run to the 'pride' of Lime Bikes that will be at our Finish Line. 
  2. Runners will sprint (or walk slowly, your choice) to the Start/Finish line to download the Lime Application. You will be given a ‘special code’ that will unlock your bike and enable you to pedal furiously. 
  3. Once unlocked the race is ON for two hard earned laps.
  4. Helmets must be worn during the cycling portion of the event. 
  5. No cheating. 

Registration on at www.bikereg.com:

  • Cost is $35 and includes: one (1) Lime Bike upon which to race, one (1) actual Lime, an Official Gateway Cup Bib Number, Schwag from Lime and 7UP AND a deluxe event T-Shirt. There is a small surcharge for online registration. No refunds. Race will occur rain, shine or lime. 
  • Packet-Pick Up, Waiver and Sign-In will be at the Gateway Cup registration tent in Francis Park near the intersection of Childress Avenue and Eichelberger Avenue.

The Prizes and Glory: Prizes from 7UP will be awarded to the following categories:

  1. Top 5 Men
  2. Top 5 Women
  3. Most Impressive Performance
  4. The Most Lime Participant

(Subjective categories will be judged arbitrarily on site by our announcers.)
