 Course Description:

Race Site Location: The New Town community has graciously allowed us into the heart of their development.  New Town is located just a few miles north of Old St. Charles, Missouri.  Take Interstate 370 to the New Town Blvd exit, go north.  New Town signs will be easy to find and easy to follow after you have exited Interstate 370 and travel north a short distance.    The closest airport to New Town is Lambert Airport, just 16 miles from the race venue. The Swim and Run will be completed within New Town proper.  Race day Packet Pickup and Post Race activities will all occur at the New Town Outdoor Amphitheater.

Swim:   The swim is an open water swim in a man-made lake.  It will be .62 miles in length.  The course is essentially an out and back swim with 2 turns.....the first turn is for the return swim and the second turn is for your swim exit.   Kayaks and safety personnel will be on and around the lake at all times.  Wet suits will be allowed as per USA Triathlon rules.

This race will utilize ONE start format (We have changed our format and eliminated the Elite Class- all prize money will be awarded to top overall finishers.)

  •  All Age Group athletes will utilize a Time-Trial format.  For the Time-Trial start, athletes will line up according to their respective age group wave (USA Triathlon age is based on your age as of 12/31/09).   One person will start every 3 seconds by crossing over the chip timing mat located on the starting Dock.
  •  Age Group Time Trial swimmers will begin to enter the lake at 8:00 AM.

Bike:    The 20 mile bike course is flat as a pancake.  It will take you through the Missouri River bottoms land.  Roads are in excellent condition and should be relatively free of vehicles.  It is NOT a closed course so caution approaching all intersections and riding to the right is expected.  Drafting is NOT allowed; marshals will patrol the entire course.  All riders must ride to the right to allow faster riders to pass and to maintain safety.  All cyclists must have a ANSI approved helmet to participate.

Click here for a Bike Course Map.

Run:   The 4 mile run is all within the confines of New Town.  It is a two loop course that has many opportunities for spectators.  The finish line will be at the New Town Amphitheater.  Ultramax will provide a great finishers chute for all participants.
